According to information posted on the Grand County website, residents are advised to contact their insurance agents as a first step. Officials recommend documenting all damage through photos or video, noting dates and times where possible, and including any available before pictures.
For those needing to report property damage, the Grand County Building Department can be contacted at 435-259-4134 for questions regarding forms or to schedule inspections for structural damage. Residents should note that self-reporting surveys are intended to help affected areas coordinate resources and clean-up efforts, but they do not generate requests for financial assistance or work.
Regarding debris removal, Grand County property owners should move debris to the edge of their property line without blocking traffic or access. Residents can schedule a pick-up by calling the Grand County Road Department at 435-259-5308 between 7:00 a.m. and 5:30 p.m., Monday through Thursday. Moab City residents should contact Moab City for specific instructions on debris removal within city limits.
The county also noted that sandbags are available for free at two locations: the City of Moab Public Works Yard at 470 Kane Creek Blvd., SW corner, and the Grand County Road Department at 3500 South U.S. 191. Both locations provide sand and bags for residents to fill onsite between 8 a.m. and 4:00 p.m., Monday through Thursday. The county recommends bringing a shovel if possible.
