Utah Tech University is hosting its annual Tricks & Treats Night on Wednesday, Oct. 28, featuring trick-or-treating and a costume fashion show on Palm Street. The community event, which was first announced as a scheduled fall celebration on Oct. 16, 2026, is open to all ages and provides various activities for local families.
Evening Festivities and Activities
The festivities are scheduled to take place from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. on Palm Street, located outside of Utah Tech’s Burns Arena. As previously reported by Utah Tech News on Oct. 16, 2026, the event is free for community members of all ages and aims to celebrate the fall season through various seasonal activities.
Costume Shows and Games
Attendees can participate in a variety of programmed events throughout the evening. The Utah Tech University Alumni Association will host several costume fashion shows at 5:30 p.m., 6 p.m., and 6:30 p.m., allowing participants to showcase their costumes. Additionally, the university is hosting a live pumpkin carving and various games.
Pumpkin Display and Trick-or-Treating
A central feature of the night is a pumpkin walk, which includes nearly 100 pumpkins. This pumpkin display will be located on the east side of the Burns North Offices. Visitors are encouraged to bring a basket, bucket, or trick-or-treating bag to collect candy from the various booths set up throughout the area.
Building Community Connections
Sydney Healy, a Utah Tech University events support specialist, said the event is intended to foster community connection. "Tricks & Treats Night is about more than just costumes and candy. It’s about bringing our community together," Healy said. She added that the university enjoys seeing the campus come alive with Halloween spirit through this annual tradition.
Booth and Vendor Details
The university's Tricks & Treats committee provides specific resources for booth participants, including one table and two chairs per registration, unless a different arrangement is requested via the registration form. Organizers recommend that participants bring creativity, high-quality swag, and plenty of candy for the community members attending.
