Kimberly Boyd, a health teacher at Shoreline Middle School, received a mini-grant from the Provo City School District Foundation to purchase new CPR dummies.
The updated equipment is intended to ensure students receive CPR training using current, realistic models to better prepare them for real-life emergencies.
The grant allows for the acquisition of tools that reflect current medical training standards. According to a notice from the Provo City School District, the new equipment will be used by hundreds of students in the coming years.
Boyd, who is nearing retirement, views the grant as an investment in the future for students who will occupy her classroom after her departure. By updating these health education tools, Boyd aims to leave the classroom in top shape for the next generation.
The support from the Provo City School District Foundation and Boyd's commitment is expected to keep the Shoreline Middle School health program strong and up to date.
