The Provo City Planning Commission scheduled a public hearing for September 9, 2026, to discuss multiple items, including a potential ordinance amendment and a new condominium development, according to a August 27 statement.
The meeting is scheduled to begin with a study session at 5:00 PM in the Provo Peak Conference Room at 445 W Center Street. A formal public hearing will follow at 6:00 PM in the Council Chambers, located at 445 West Center Street.
One item on the agenda involves a request from Provo Public Works for an Ordinance Text Amendment to Provo City Code 15.03.200. This amendment seeks to provide more flexibility regarding street access standards for new developments on a citywide basis.
Additionally, James Smith has requested a Zone Map Amendment and Concept Plan approval for a 19-unit condominium project. The project is located at 985 West 300 South in the Franklin Neighborhood and would require changing the current M1 (Light Manufacturing) and RC (Residential Conservation) zones to a High Density Residential (HDR) zone.
Public comments may be submitted via provo.gov/publiccomments until 6:00 PM the day before the hearing. The meeting can be viewed live on YouTube or Facebook. Individuals requiring special accommodations should contact the Planning Administrative Assistant at 801-852-6424 before 12:00 PM the day before the meeting.
