Utah State Parks announced June 25, 2026, that visitors entering a state park on July 4 will have the opportunity to return to another state park free of charge. This offer applies to all Utah State Parks, with the exception of state park golf courses.
Details of free return passes
Bounce Back Passes will be distributed at staffed Utah State Parks entrance gates on July 4. These promotional passes can be redeemed for one free day-use admission at any Utah State Park between August 3 and August 6, 2026. The offer is limited to one pass per vehicle.
Current Stage 2 fire restrictions
In addition to the promotion, Stage 2 fire restrictions are currently in effect at all Utah State Parks. Under these restrictions, no open fires of any kind are permitted. However, devices using pressurized liquid or gas fuels, such as lanterns, grills, or stoves that feature a shut-off valve, are allowed if they are used at least 3 feet away from flammable material.
Preventing human-caused wildfires
Officials noted that 70% of wildfires in Utah are human-caused and urged visitors to take steps to reduce wildfire risks. Recommended actions include avoiding smoking near vegetation, parking in designated areas rather than on plants, and not dragging chains. Visitors are encouraged to recreate responsibly to keep parks safe and fire-free.
