Grand County is seeking a volunteer citizen appointee to fill a vacancy on the Budget Advisory Board (BAB). The board is looking for an individual who possesses professional knowledge of finance or has a demonstrated interest in budgeting.
Members of the Budget Advisory Board work alongside elected County leaders to review and understand the Grand County budget on a line-by-line basis.
During open and public BAB meetings, each Grand County Department presents detailed budget requests. These presentations occur before the Tentative Budget is forwarded to the full Grand County Commission for consideration.
BAB members play a critical role by requesting clarification and justification for budget requests found in the tentative budget. The objective of this role is to promote transparency in local government spending and foster a better understanding of the Grand County budget.
Meetings for the board are held weekly from August through December.
