The Oakley Planning Commission is scheduled to hold a public hearing on Wednesday, September 2, 2026, to discuss a possible recommendation for a code amendment. According to a August 21 statement, the commission is considering an ordinance to repeal and reenact parts of the Oakley City Code § 13 9 20 regarding the regulation and registration of short-term rental units.
The proposed changes to the short-term rental regulations are intended to regulate short-term rentals and promote the general welfare, safety, and public health of Oakley residents. The hearing will take place at 6:00 p.m. at 960 W. Center Street, with a Zoom meeting option available via Meeting I.D. 820 258 4629.
Public comments will be accepted during the public hearing section of the meeting and are limited to three minutes. Comments may also be submitted via email to stephanie@oakleyut.gov. To ensure review by Commissioners prior to the meeting, comments must be received by September 1, 2026, at 4:30 p.m.
The Oakley City Council will hear the results of this public hearing at the specified time and place. Individuals requiring special accommodations for the hearing can notify the City recorder, Amy Rydalch, at least three days prior to the meeting.
