FC Dallas defeated Real Salt Lake 4-3 on Wednesday night, August 18, at America First Field in Sandy, Utah. The victory was secured by a late game-winning goal from midfielder Ran Binyamin during the second minute of second-half stoppage time.
Joaquín Valiente scored his first FC Dallas goal in the 17th minute following an assist from captain Ramiro. Valiente, the team's leader in assists and key passes, also provided assists for both of Petar Musa's goals during the match.
Petar Musa scored his 15th and 16th goals of the season, remaining at the top of the Golden Boot race. By reaching his 15th goal, Musa became the fifth player in MLS history to score at least 15 goals in each of his first three MLS seasons. He also became the fastest player in FC Dallas history to reach 50 MLS regular-season goals, achieving the milestone in his 78th appearance.
Ran Binyamin scored his first MLS goal to provide the winning margin after receiving an assist from Ramiro. With this win, FC Dallas earned its sixth road victory of the season, tying a club record from the post-shootout era set in 2007, 2011, and 2018.
Head Coach Eric Quill praised the group's resilience and mentality, noting that the team showed a never-say-die attitude despite losing momentum late in the first half.
FC Dallas is scheduled to play the Vancouver Whitecaps FC at BC Place on Saturday, Aug. 22. The match is scheduled to kick off at 8:30 p.m. CT and will be available to stream on Apple TV.
