Folklore Bookshop has been recognized as the Heber Valley Chamber Business of the Month for November 2025. Located in Midway, Utah, the independent bookstore has served the community since its opening in October 2024.
The bookstore is co-owned by Alison Russell, Lindsey Leavitt Brown, and Audrey Lind. The three local residents founded the shop to create a space for readers to gather and discover literature.
Folklore Bookshop offers a wide variety of genres, including fiction, fantasy, romance, thrillers, cookbooks, and memoirs. The shop maintains a robust non-fiction section and a children's section featuring picture books, early readers, and middle-grade favorites. Through its website, customers can order books from all major publishers for pickup or shipping.
The shop functions as a community gathering place by hosting book clubs, weekly children's storytimes, and seasonal themed storytimes. The venue also hosts author events, game nights, and holiday-focused gatherings.
The business is involved in several local charitable efforts. Folklore Bookshop serves as a collection location for seasonal coat drives, donates a portion of its sales to the Heber Food Bank, and supports Operation Hope, which assists families in the Wasatch Back.
The owners noted that membership in the Heber Valley Chamber of Commerce has helped them connect with other business owners and stay informed about community events.
