The City of Millcreek issued a request for qualifications for an ice skating consultant to support the Millcreek Magic Ice Show, according to a July 29 report. The project is set to take place at Millcreek Common, located at 1354 East Chambers Avenue.
The consultant will be responsible for the artistic vision of the ice-skating portion of the show, which follows an Arctic Polar theme. Duties include conducting auditions, selecting and organizing skaters, and developing choreography that aligns with the production concept. The role also involves leading on-ice rehearsals, providing coaching, and coordinating with the Events Manager and production team.
The anticipated commitment for the project is approximately 67 hours. This includes online meetings, auditions, on-ice rehearsals, and planning sessions. The consultant is required to attend a full dress rehearsal on Wednesday, Nov. 25, 2026, and oversee performances during the show weekend, which includes scheduled performances on Nov. 27, 28, 29, and during Thanksgiving weekend.
Proposals must be submitted in PDF format to Rachel Nasse via email by noon MST on August 25, 2026. The submission must include a letter of interest detailing the proposer's experience in professional skating, choreography, or production, along with a project approach and professional references.
The City will evaluate proposals based on experience and qualifications, which account for 50 percent of the scoring, and the proposed project approach, which accounts for the remaining 50 percent. The Mayor or her designee will make the final selection.
