Utah State Parks provides several types of passes to assist visitors with park access. Options range from single-use digital day-use passes to annual passes that cover multiple individuals in a single vehicle.
Digital Day-Use Pass Details
Digital Day-Use Passes can be purchased online at parkspass.utah.gov. These passes are valid only for the day of purchase and do not include camping access or camping discounts. Additionally, purchasing a pass does not guarantee entry if a park reaches capacity and must temporarily close.
Annual Day-Use Pass Features
The Utah State Parks Annual Day-Use Pass is available in both physical and digital formats. This pass provides day-use access for the purchaser and up to seven additional people in the same vehicle. Seniors aged 65 and over are eligible for a discounted rate. The annual pass remains valid for 12 months from the month of purchase.
Where to Purchase Annual Passes
Annual passes can be acquired online or in person at staffed state parks, regional offices in the Eastern and Southwest regions, and the Utah DNR Bookstore in Salt Lake City. However, annual passes are not available at the North Region Office or Division of Wildlife Resources offices. The Annual Day-Use Pass excludes access to This is the Place Heritage Park and Jordan River OHV State Park, and does not cover the $2 causeway fee for Antelope Island State Park. Camping access and discounts are also excluded from this pass.
Veterans Honor Pass Requirements
Specialized passes are available for veterans. The Veterans With Disabilities Honor Pass is currently undergoing updates, though holders of 2025 passes may still use them until updates are finalized. To obtain this pass, Utah residents who were honorably discharged and have a service-related disability must provide a current summary of benefits letter from the Department of Veterans Affairs.
Veterans Adventure Pass Program Update
A pilot program known as the Veterans Adventure Pass has reached capacity, according to the UDVMA. This one-year initiative was created by the Utah State Legislature to offer annual state park access to qualifying veterans who are Utah residents and possess an Interagency Military-LIFETIME Pass for national parks.
Managing Passes via Mobile App
Visitors can manage their annual passes via a mobile app. By registering an annual pass online and downloading the Utah State Parks mobile app, users can carry their pass on their phones. The app can be downloaded at ParksPass.utah.gov/app.
