The Logan Library Board held a regular meeting on Monday, June 22, 2026, to address various administrative updates, new board appointments, and upcoming strategic initiatives. During the meeting, the board welcomed new member JaDene Denniston and reviewed reports regarding library statistics, budgeting, and community programming.
JaDene Denniston was introduced as a new Library Board member following an appointment by the City Council. Denniston brings 37 years of library experience and has previously served as president of both CVLA and the Friends of the Logan Library.
Regarding library resources, staff reported that the library maintains 285 book club kits, with approximately 35 to 40 kits checked out regularly. New programming initiatives include a Spanish book club and a read to a dog program. Additionally, the library is preparing for a state certification process required for large libraries to access state funding, which will involve developing a five-year strategic plan starting in July.

The city council approved budgets for 2026-2027 during a June meeting.
The library is transitioning to the Koha system.
An applicant has been offered the LCA position pending background and drug screenings.
The library is considering a request from the warming center to host a locked refrigerator for insulin storage.
Other business included updates on facility improvements, such as the installation of CD drawers and new trash cans on the terraces and plaza. The board noted that the July meeting has been cancelled, and David Welch will lead the August meeting while Chelsea Bitner is away.
