The St. George Planning Commission scheduled a public hearing for August 25, 2026, to consider a zoning change for a project known as Horizon Ridge, according to a August 14 notice.
The hearing is set to begin at 5:00 p.m. at the St. George City Offices located at 61 S Main Street, St. George, Utah.
The request involves rezoning approximately 35.76 acres from R-1-8 (Single-Family Residential, 8,000 ft² minimum lot size) and R-1-10 (Single-Family Residential, 10,000 ft² minimum lot size) to R-1 (Single Family Residential, no minimum lot size).
The property is located generally north of the Dixie Intermediate School and south of Province Way. The applicant for the project is American Consulting & Engineering, represented by Austin Chappell, under Case No. 2026-ZC-014.
