Swig named Daniel Batty as Chief Development Officer to support the company's corporate and franchise growth. The appointment occurred as the beverage brand expanded its C-Suite during a period of significant expansion across North America.
Batty joined the company with over 20 years of experience in the quick service restaurant segment. He previously served as Vice President of Design and Construction at Dutch Bros Coffee for five years, where he oversaw growth from 29 new stores in 2018 to 180 new stores in 2024. His professional background also includes roles at McDonald’s, CKE Restaurants, and Dunkin Brands.
Swig CEO Alex Dunn stated that Batty is experienced, strategic, and uniquely qualified to lead the company's expansion. Dunn noted that the company requires leaders who understand the mission of fostering human connections and sharing happiness in a cup.
Batty commented that he was struck by the leadership team's commitment to workplace culture and expressed interest in working alongside the team to realize the brand's vision. He identified himself as a builder looking to share in the future success of the brand.
Swig was founded in 2010 in St. George, Utah, by Nicole Robison. The company has grown to 81 locations across seven states. In 2022, The Larry H. Miller Company purchased Swig from Savory Fund, while Savory Fund maintained a minority stake.
The appointment of Batty follows other recent C-suite appointments at Swig, including Dylan Roeder as CMO, Chase Wardrop as COO, and Bill Ayers as CFO. The company has over 80 stores open and has signed more than 500 franchise units across the United States and Canada.
