SALT LAKE CITY (Aug. 6, 2026) — The Utah Department of Transportation is encouraging drivers to plan ahead for a full closure of southbound Interstate 15 in Davis County this weekend.

Starting Saturday, Aug. 8 at 10 p.m., southbound I-15 between 200 North in Kaysville (approximately Exit 328) and Park Lane in Farmington (Exit 324) will be closed until Sunday, Aug. 9 at 8:30 a.m.

During the same time, northbound I-15 will be reduced to one lane. These closures will allow crews to remove overhead signs.

This work is part of the Shepard Lane Improved project, which is building a new interchange at Shepard Lane in Farmington to reduce congestion and enhance safety.

The project will also improve pedestrian and bicycle connections along Park Lane, and the ramps associated with I-15, US-89 and Legacy Parkway (State Route 67).

Farther north, drivers can also expect additional overnight I-15 lane closures in Ogden as crews repair pavement approaching the bridge ramps.

Every night from 10 p.m. to 5 a.m. through the morning of Thursday, Aug. 13, drivers can expect sections of I-15 between State Route 79 (31st Street) and 700 South to be reduced to one lane. Crews will switch between northbound and southbound I-15 according to the following schedule:

Thursday, Aug. 6: Southbound I-15

Friday, Aug. 7: Southbound I-15

Saturday, Aug. 8: North and southbound I-15

Sunday, Aug. 9: North and southbound I-15

Monday, Aug. 10: Northbound I-15

Tuesday, Aug. 11: Northbound I-15

Wednesday, Aug. 12: North and southbound I-15

Thursday morning, Aug. 13: All lanes open

Construction schedules are weather-dependent and subject to change.
