Stage 2 fire restrictions have been implemented at Wasatch Mountain State Park, prohibiting all open fires of any kind. This includes fires within established fire pits, charcoal grills, pellet grills, and any other ash-producing fuel.
Properly shielded gas or liquid-fueled portable camp stoves with a shut-off valve are permitted, provided they are used in an area at least three feet in diameter that is barren and contains no flammable vegetation.
Regarding trail conditions, the park reports that trails are currently dry and dusty.
Several camping areas remain open to visitors, including the Soldier Hollow Camping Loops, Pine Canyon Camping Loops, and Little Deer Creek Campground. The Little Deer Creek Campground is accessible via Cascade Spring road, by ATV from trail 2, or from Snake Creek using a 4x4 high clearance vehicle. This primitive campground features a dirt road access and has no sewer or power, though one restroom building provides running water from June through September.
Visitors are reminded that day-use fees remain in effect year-round. A valid Day-Use tag or Annual State Park Pass must be displayed to avoid potential citations. The non-senior rate is $10 per car for up to eight people, while the senior rate for those 65 and older is $5 per car for up to eight people.
The park visitor center is open daily from 9 am to 5 pm, except on Thanksgiving, December 25th, and January 1st.
Reservations for camping and cabins can be made up to four months in advance, while group use area reservations can be made 11 months in advance. For more information regarding road conditions, travelers may visit the UDOT website.
