Utah Lake State Park announced Aug. 4 that all marina slips for the 2026 boating season have been fully rented following high demand. The announcement comes as the park manages ongoing seasonal activities, including quagga decontamination services and stage two fire restrictions.
Marina Slip Availability
The park officials confirmed that after working through a waiting list, all remaining slips for the 2026 season have been filled. Due to the continued high demand for slip rentals at the Utah Lake State Park Marina, officials are now encouraging interested parties to join the waiting lists for the 2027 season.
2027 Waiting List Details
The state park maintains two separate waiting lists for the upcoming 2027 season: one for standard slips up to 27 feet in length and another for large slips up to 52 feet in length. Applications for these lists operate on a first-come, first-served basis and are determined by the order in which applications are received. A $30 application fee is required to join a list, and applications remain valid for one year, running from April to April.
Fire and Safety Regulations
In addition to marina management, the park has implemented stage two fire restrictions. Under these rules, there are no open fires of any kind permitted, including those in established fire pits, charcoal grills, pellet grills, or ash-producing fuel. Only properly shielded gas or liquid-fueled portable camp stoves with a shut-off valve are allowed, provided they are used in an area at least three feet in diameter that is barren of flammable vegetation.
Invasive Species Protection
The park also continues its efforts to protect Utah's waters from aquatic invasive species through quagga decontamination services. These services are available to boaters on a first-come, first-served basis without appointments. Decontamination hours are scheduled from 7:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. Friday through Monday, and from 10:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. Tuesday through Thursday. To ensure the process is completed, all boats must arrive by 7:30 p.m.
Lake Conditions and Use
Utah Lake, known as Utah's largest freshwater lake at approximately 148 square miles, continues to see high engagement from the community. Current conditions include an average water temperature of 75 degrees and active fishing for species such as yellow perch, white bass, catfish, and walleye. The park also maintains a no-fly zone for drones due to its proximity to the Provo Airport.
Recreational Amenities
The park's recreational offerings include a 31-site RV campground with water and power hookups. While the marina is currently at capacity, the park continues to provide access for swimming, boating, and paddleboarding. Officials noted that no refunds are offered for camping or slip rentals due to weather, insects, or early departures.
