The Mountain Sky Conference has released detailed appointment announcements for clergy assignments effective July 1, 2026. These updates involve numerous congregations across the Utah/Western Colorado, Montana East, Montana West, Wyoming, and Colorado districts.
In the Utah/Western Colorado district, several changes are noted for July 2026. David Sauer will serve at Tooele UMC in Tooele, following a retirement. Other appointments include Brittani Bair at Paonia UMC, Hotchkiss UMC, and Olathe UMC, as well as Cory Young at FUMC Grand Junction. Additionally, Darin Busé is assigned to Community UMC in Ogden, while Matthew Utley will serve at Mountain Vista UMC in West Jordan.
The Montana East district includes the appointment of Laura Ymker to Christ UMC and First Congregational UCC in Great Falls. Carl Ellis will lead a group of churches including Big Sandy UMC, Chester UMC, Fort Benton UMC, Havre Van Orsdel UMC, Highwood UMC, Shelby UMC, Sunburst UMC, and Valier UMC.
In the Colorado Front Range district, Kristi Hornick is appointed to Goode Centennial UMC in Commerce City. Ryan Wieland will serve as Associate Pastor at Hope UMC in Greenwood Village, and Ngalu Kelemeni has been assigned to Burns Memorial UMC in Aurora.
The announcements also highlight various transitions due to retirement, first appointments, and transfers between districts. These assignments represent the ongoing leadership structure for the Mountain Sky Conference churches as of July 2026.
