Co-chairs Zach Sutton and Shelby Hurst are preparing to host thousands of attendees from around the world for the 2026 Utah Area Young Single Adult (YSA) conference. The multiday event is scheduled to take place on Friday and Saturday, Aug. 14-15.
The conference is expected to be one of the largest annual gatherings for young single adults, with organizers anticipating attendance numbers similar to last year's event, which saw over 20,000 attendees. This year, the conference will adopt the Utah Area theme of "Joyfully gathering Israel one by one," focusing on the importance of reaching out to individuals.
Attendees can expect a variety of spiritual and social activities. The schedule includes devotionals, breakout sessions, and a concert featuring Iam Tongi and the group King Will Come. The concert is scheduled to be held at the Salt Palace Convention Center. Additionally, a rally kickoff is planned for Thursday to introduce activities like a scavenger hunt designed to foster interaction and connection among participants.
The event will feature several speakers, including keynote speakers and various breakout session presenters. Shelby Hurst noted that the conference provides an opportunity for young adults to see that they are part of a large, active group within the gospel. Zach Sutton mentioned that the conference offers a unique setting to hear from Church leaders and learn through different perspectives.
In addition to the main scheduled events, local wards and stakes are finding ways to support visiting YSAs. Some wards in Salt Lake have hosted visitors for meals, and the Orem Utah Temple district has hosted temple nights specifically for young single adults.
