The Syracuse City Council has scheduled a work session for Sept. 22, 2026, according to a Sept. 17 notice. The meeting is set to begin at 6:00 p.m. at Syracuse City Hall, located at 1979 W. 1900 S.
The agenda for the upcoming work session includes several planning and fire department items. The Council will review a recommendation from the Planning Commission regarding proposed amendments to the Syracuse Municipal Code section 10.28 concerning landscaping standards. Additionally, the fire department will discuss proposed amendments to the Syracuse City Ambulance Hardship Waiver policy and a proposed Intercounty Automatic Aid Fire Agreement. The Council is also scheduled to discuss the declaration of a 2011 Kenworth Fire Tender as surplus property.
Financial and legal discussions are also included on the agenda. The Council will review proposed amendments to the Syracuse City Wage Scale for the fiscal year ending June 30, 2027, as well as amendments to the budget for the fiscal year ending June 30, 2026. Other topics include a proposed ACH Fraud Prevention and Fraud Monitoring Policy, amendments to Municipal Code section 11.20.075 regarding Park and Ride Lots, and a Memorandum of Understanding with Davis County concerning Costco sales tax distributions.
