The Syracuse City Council held a special business meeting on July 28, 2026, to discuss city business and real estate matters, according to meeting minutes.
Mayor Dave Maughan called the special meeting to order at 7:34 p.m. after providing 24 hours of notice regarding the time, place, and agenda to the council and local newspaper.
During the meeting, the council addressed a public hearing regarding the execution of a Real Estate Purchase Contract (REPC) for city-owned property located at 508 W. 2700 S.
Councilmember Paul Watson made a motion to authorize the administration to execute the REPC for the property. The motion was seconded by Councilmember Julie Robertson and received a unanimous vote from the council.
Following the vote, the council moved into a closed executive session to discuss matters including pending or reasonably imminent litigation and the purchase, exchange, or lease of real property.
The council reconvened at 7:41 p.m. and adjourned shortly thereafter.
The meeting was attended by Mayor Dave Maughan, City Manager Brody Bovero, and several councilmembers, including Andrea Brown, Brett Cragun, Julie Robertson, Paul Watson, and Abraham Pollard.
