Toquerville City has announced the upcoming 2025 Municipal General Election, which is scheduled to take place on Tuesday, November 4, 2025. Pursuant to Utah Code § 10-3-301(2)(a), the election will fill several municipal offices.
Positions up for election include Mayor for a four-year term, two City Council members for four-year terms, and one City Council member for a two-year term. A Municipal Primary Election will be held on Tuesday, August 12, 2025, if necessary.
Qualified individuals may file a Declaration of Candidacy between June 2, 2025, and 5:00 p.m. on June 6, 2025. Filings must be completed at the Office of the City Recorder, located at 212 N. Toquer Blvd, Toquerville, UT 84774.
According to the notice, each individual filing for candidacy will meet with the City Recorder to review required qualifications and legal requirements regarding the disclosure of campaign contributions and expenditures. A primary election will not be held if the number of candidates does not exceed twice the number of open positions for each office.
To qualify as a candidate for elected municipal office in Toquerville City, an individual must be a United States citizen and a registered voter in Toquerville City. Additionally, candidates must have been a resident of Toquerville for at least 12 consecutive months immediately preceding the election date and must not have been convicted of a felony, unless the right to hold office has been restored under Utah law.
