Mayor Russ Porter called the meeting to order to begin the overview of meeting procedures. The session was open to the public and held at the EOC located at 3950 Adams Ave. in South Ogden.
Ongoing Redevelopment Discussions
The July workshop represented a continuation of downtown planning efforts that were previously addressed in the spring. At a combined work session held on March 12, 2026, the South Ogden Planning Commission and City Council had met to discuss the broader City Center Plan.
During that March meeting, Nathan Davies from Downtown Redevelopment presented information regarding the plan. While the March 12 agenda was released by the City Recorder on March 5, 2026, the city noted at that time that no formal action would be taken on items discussed during the work session.
Administrative Oversight
The planning process has involved different leadership roles across these sessions. While Mayor Russ Porter led the July 9 proceedings, Chairman Robert Bruderer presided over the call to order during the March 12 session.
Both sessions were held at the same location within City Hall in South Ogden. The city's administrative processes for these meetings included notifying the Standard Examiner and posting notices to the State of Utah Public Notice Website.
Public Access Protocols
The City of South Ogden maintains protocols for public access to these sessions, including provisions for the Americans with Disabilities Act. For the July 9 session, the city requested that individuals needing special accommodations notify the City Recorder at least 48 hours in advance.
