An advisory board vacancy has been announced for the OSTA in Grand County. Pursuant to Resolution 2966, the Advisory Committee serves as an advisory body to both the Grand County Council and the OSTA Manager.
The responsibilities and authority of the committee include providing the Council and OSTA Manager with facts, opinions, advice, and recommendations regarding issues related to the development of the OSTA site. The committee is tasked with providing insight and recommendations to better position OSTA to recover costs, produce revenue, and achieve greater financial viability.
Additionally, the board is responsible for promoting the facility as a multifunctional event venue while maintaining the property's value as a community asset. Members are expected to work with the Grand County Community Development Department and the Grand County Planning Commission, if required, to ensure OSTA development complies with the Grand County Land Use Code, the Grand County General Plan, and other relevant ordinances.
The committee also focuses on promoting unity between local business and user groups concerning events, sponsorship, fundraising, and increasing revenue for local businesses within Grand County. The board selects work projects by consensus to develop the arena complex in line with event trends.
The committee assists OSTA staff with reports on requests from the Council regarding development and provides advice on priorities for event planning, project planning, and construction. This process includes input from committee members, OSTA staff, and other concerned members of the public.
