Students and staff at Majestic Elementary Arts Academy participated in a special piano concert through the Gina Bachauer International Piano Foundation’s Music-in-Our-Schools outreach program, according to a September 18 report. The program brings world-class concert pianists and Steinway grand pianos directly into schools.
The performance featured Misha Galant, an award-winning pianist who was a quarterfinalist and semifinalist in the 2024 Gina Bachauer International Artists Piano Competition. Galant performed classical music by Tchaikovsky, Schubert, and George Gershwin. During the event, students learned how the piano can convey emotions and tell stories without lyrics and were encouraged to ask questions after each piece.
The Music-in-Our-Schools program introduces live classical piano music to between 20,000 and 25,000 Utah students annually.
