Skyridge High School junior Beckham Bennett has been named the athlete of the month, according to a report published August 23. Bennett plays running back and wide receiver for the Falcons.
In a recent game against Mountain Ridge, Bennett recorded six catches for 61 yards and two touchdowns. He also had 11 rushes for 36 yards and accumulated 66 return yards on three tries.
During an earlier game against the Sentinels, Bennett scored the winning touchdown late in the fourth quarter to secure a victory for Skyridge. Standing 5-foot-8 and weighing 170 pounds, Bennett has shown heart and toughness in early season matchups against highly-regarded teams.
Bennett's performance highlights include significant contributions to the Falcon offense during recent competitive games.
