According to a notice on the Mapleton city website, the city offers indoor street hockey programs for students in grades 1 through 9. The programs include various leagues and clinics held at Memorial Hall or Hobble Creek Elementary.
Registration for the programs opens on August 1 and October 1, though officials noted that registration dates do not guarantee availability. Once a league reaches its maximum number of participants, registration is considered closed. Participants can register online through CivicRec or in person at the Parks and Recreation Office located at 125 W 400 N during office hours, Monday through Thursday from 8:00 am to 4:00 pm.
League options include a 1st-2nd grade clinic focusing on basic fundamentals, and leagues for 3rd-4th, 5th-6th, and 7th-9th grades. The cost for these programs is $60. Through a partnership with the Utah Mammoth, all participants receive a hockey stick, a jersey, and two tickets to a Utah Mammoth game.
For the 3rd through 9th grade leagues, players are drafted and will participate in a skills preview session. These sessions allow coaches to observe participants performing basic drills such as running, throwing, and catching. If a league is full, interested individuals can join a waitlist via their CivicRec account.
