Personal fireworks are prohibited in Washington Terrace from July 22 through July 25, 2026. The Washington Terrace Fire Department announced the restriction is in place to prioritize community safety amid extreme wildfire danger across Utah.
The move follows Executive Order 2026-04 issued by Governor Spencer Cox prior to the Fourth of July. Additionally, a new order from the Utah State Forester on July 20 allowed municipalities facing continued hazardous fire conditions to extend fireworks restrictions during the Pioneer Day holiday.
Washington Terrace requested and received expanded restrictions for the period of July 22–25, 2026. Officials noted that current conditions remain extremely dry, stating that a single spark can start a wildfire that threatens lives, businesses, and homes.
The Washington Terrace Fire Department expressed appreciation for the cooperation shown by residents during the Fourth of July holiday and requested continued support from the community during Pioneer Day.
The department emphasized that keeping fireworks out of the community helps protect neighborhoods, firefighters, and the local area.
