During a backyard fire on July 5, 2026, located behind the Travelodge in the Cottonwood neighborhood, the Kane County Sheriff’s Office assisted the Kanab City Fire Department by providing traffic control. This cooperation helped prevent the fire from spreading to nearby homes and ensured that responders could work effectively to bring the blaze under control.
