The Sandy City Council is scheduled to hold a meeting on September 1, 2026, to hear presentations regarding a rezone application for three properties on Hagan Road, according to a August 21 notice.
The application, filed by Matthew Grant, involves approximately 1.79 acres located at 11562 S., 11563 S., and 11586 S. Hagan Road.
The request seeks to rezone the properties from the R-1-20 Single-Family Residential District to the R-1-20A Single Family Residential District with Farm Animal rights. This change would add an 'A' designation to the existing zone to allow for farm animals and associated rights.
The City Council is scheduled to hold a separate meeting to take action on the application on September 15, 2026, at approximately 5:15 p.m. Both the September 1 and September 15 meetings will be conducted in-person at the Sandy City Council Chambers at City Hall and via Zoom Webinar.
Public comment will be accepted during the general citizen comment period at the meetings. Individuals unable to attend may email comments to City Council Executive Director Dustin Fratto by 3:00 p.m. on the day of the meeting or send written comments directly to the City Council via email.
The Planning Commission held a public hearing on August 20, 2026, and provided a positive recommendation for the application to the City Council.
