The Town Council of Apple Valley will hold a public meeting on Sept. 23, 2026, to consider a proposed ordinance regarding culinary water rates, fees, and charges, according to a notice published August 25.
The proposed ordinance aims to establish the town's culinary water rates, fees, and charges by ordinance. This includes ratifying and confirming existing water rates previously adopted by resolution and amending Title 01.20.020, Commercial. The council will also consider corresponding amendments to the Town Fee Schedule.
The proposed amendment to Title 01.20.020, Commercial, would establish specific commercial water usage tiers. Rates for commercial usage would range from $1.50 per 1,000 gallons for usage between 0 and 12,000 gallons up to $7.00 per 1,000 gallons for usage exceeding 100,000 gallons.
Existing water rates currently in effect include a residential base fee and a residential standby fee of $75.00 per month each. The town also maintains emergency residential water rates that apply during Stage 3 or Stage 4 water conservation activations.
The public meeting is scheduled for 6:00 PM on Sept. 23, 2026, at the Apple Valley Town Hall located at 1777 N. Meadowlark Drive. Retail customers are invited to attend and provide comments regarding the proposed ordinance and commercial rate amendment.
