The Apple Valley Town Council has announced a public hearing to discuss proposed amendments to municipal culinary water rates, fees, and charges. According to a report published August 25, the meeting is scheduled for Wednesday, September 23, 2026, at 6:00 PM at 1777 N. Meadowlark Drive.
The proposed Ordinance O-2026-22 aims to establish culinary water rates and amend Title 01.20.020 regarding commercial water usage. The council will also consider amendments to the Town Fee Schedule. The proposed commercial usage tiers include rates ranging from $1.50 to $7.00 per 1,000 gallons depending on the volume used.
Existing water rates, which are currently in effect, are also slated for formal ratification and confirmation by ordinance. These include a monthly residential standby fee and base fee of $75.00 each, alongside a tiered usage fee structure.
The town will also review emergency residential water rates that would apply only when a water conservation stage is activated by the Mayor. Under these circumstances, residential base and standby fees would remain at $75.00 per month, but usage rates would increase depending on the specific conservation stage.
Other proposed changes include commercial base and standby rates for various meter sizes, ranging from $102.00 for a 1-inch meter to $1,241.90 for a 4-inch meter. The council is also considering commercial impact fees and connection fees.
