The 75th Air Base Wing hosted the Ready Airman Training, or RAT, Race, putting Airmen through a demanding tactical course at the BORTA training grounds. The event challenged Airmen across various field objectives to test physical stamina and reinforce baseline combat training.
Competing in multi-functional teams, participants navigated field objectives encompassing combat casualty care, weapons handling, CBRN operations, and physical obstacles. The competition included a marksmanship challenge to test weapons handling and accuracy under pressure.
Teams also engaged in Chemical, Biological, Radiological, and Nuclear (CBRN) procedures and tactical communication under field conditions. The event evaluated Airmen on baseline field medical response through tasks such as preparing a litter to transport a simulated casualty.
The competition utilized tactical obstacles and live-fire evolutions to build unit cohesion and test physical grit. The course incorporated elements such as water, mud, and simulated combat obstacles designed to test physical endurance and Ready Airman Training skills.
