A recent photo feature from the Air Force showcases Airmen from around the globe participating in various activities to support expeditionary operations and defend America.
The collection highlights the men and women of the Air Force through a series of documented moments across multiple locations.
The images captured several military operations and traditions. In Washington, Air Force One and F-35A Lightning II aircraft performed a flyover near the U.S. Capitol as part of the Freedom 250 Grand Prix. In Iceland, a C-130J Super Hercules approached a grass landing zone during exercise Northern Viking 26, while Airmen from the 147th Aircraft Maintenance Squadron performed postflight checks on an MQ-9 Reaper at Keflavik Air Base.
Other featured activities include the 97th Air Mobility Wing participating in the 28th Annual Cattle Drive at Altus Air Force Base in Oklahoma. In Michigan, a quadrupedal unmanned ground vehicle patrolled during exercise Northern Strike 26-2 at the Alpena Combat Readiness Training Center. Additionally, Air National Guard civil engineers conducted dismounted operations training for exercise Patriot Forge II at Fort Devens, Mass.
Technical and community-focused roles were also highlighted. Senior Airman Vicente Thompkins was pictured coaching a youth football team in Panama City, and Airman 1st Class Sullivan Cox demonstrated jet engine testing for families during a tour at RAF Lakenheath in the United Kingdom. In the U.S. Central Command area of responsibility, a metals technology specialist used a plasma cutter to shape raw materials.
