The Price City Council conducted a workshop on July 8, 2026, covering topics such as meeting time adjustments, city property management, and public safety reports, according to meeting minutes published July 27.
Mayor Willis announced that beginning August 12, 2026, the City Council Workshop will start at 4:00 p.m., adding an extra half hour to the meeting. City Recorder Jaci Adams will publish the amended time change in ETV news to minimize printing requirements.
Nick Tatton reported that the International Days Golf Tournament is full. He also noted that Price City received a grant for a Real Property Manual update and is issuing an RFP. Additionally, a billboard owned by Price City near the hospital, which is used by USUE for advertising, may be declared surplus and given to USUE, who would also include "Welcome to Price" advertisements.
Regarding local development, anticipated new dorms near the college held two open houses to address resident questions, with potential attendance at a Planning and Zoning meeting in September.
Public safety reports from Kelly Maynes included June statistics showing 925 dispatched incidents. Maynes noted that crews remain busy and the department is fully staffed, with one individual attending the academy. A QR code will be established for the Shop with a Cop program.
Financial and administrative updates from Lisa Richens included the posting of all budget notices and the processing of new payroll for the beginning of the fiscal year. Tina Urbanik inquired about the timing of the last Master Plan update, which was 3 to 4 years ago.
The workshop included discussions on a software problem regarding purchase power adjustment and a scheduled Planning and Commission Retreat for November 23, 2026. Councilmember Richard Root inquired about the Transportation Committee and the process for purchasing new police vehicles, noting that the committee reviews vehicle mileage, age, and repair totals while seeking grants and solutions.
