Reclamation has coordinated hourly water release patterns for Flaming Gorge Dam to accommodate power generation. The reservoir currently sits at 75 percent of its live storage capacity as inflows are projected to remain below average through September.

Mother Nature caused some havoc with the spectacular lightning show she put on over much of northern Utah on Sunday evening. While on US-91 in Richmond during the storm, Nicole Erickson caught on camera an incredible lightning strike that hit directly in front of her.
Friends and family of a 16-year-old boy killed during a hiking fall in Little Cottonwood Canyon are creating a scholarship to honor his life. Zach Crandall was killed Wednesday while hiking Devil's Castle near Alta with three friends. At one point during the hike, Crandall fell more than 100 feet, and despite the arrival of medical personnel, the teenager was pronounced dead at the scene.
November 18, 1942 – August 14, 2026 Norma Rae (Birch) Reiter passed away peacefully on August 14, 2026, at the age of 83. She was blessed to be at home, surrounded by her family and cared for by Hospice. Norma was born in Price, Utah on November 18, 1942, the youngest child of Lavar and Odessa Gage Birch.
